Google will use new Image Format - WebP

      Internet search giant planning to boost the load time of an webpage with the help of new image format WebP. Since these image format is lighter than the JPEG image. It is an image format used in electronic devices with an screen.

      WebP offers compression that has shown 39.8% more byte-size efficiency than JPEG for the same quality in a large scale study of 900,000 images on the Web.

      The most of the traffic over the internet is because of images, hence using WebP would make web faster. WebP format works with the Google Chrome 9 browser.
